We’re often asked what the ‘best’ age is to begin orthodontic treatment, and the truth is, there is no perfect age! Patients of all ages and lifestyles can benefit from the mental and physical health benefits orthodontic treatment provides. While the most common age to begin treatment is between 12 and 16 years old, more adults are undergoing treatment each year for a healthier, more confident smile.
To begin evaluating your child’s needs, we recommend bringing them in for an initial, no-cost consultation around age 7. While it is rare that they will need to begin treatment at this age, we’ll be able to identify potential orthodontic issues early and plan for the best path to success.
